Grigore CICAN

 

 

Prof. Grigore CICAN

Prof. Grigore Cican is a professor at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Romania, and a senior researcher (CS I) at INCDT COMOTI.
He graduated from POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest in 2009 with a degree in
Aerospace Propulsion Systems and obtained a second bachelor’s degree in Technological Physics from the University of Bucharest in 2010. In 2014, he earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering Professor Cican’s professional and research activity focuses on aerospace propulsion systems, aeroacoustics, and alternative and eco-friendly fuels for gas turbines and UAVs.

He has extensive experience in propulsion noise reduction, numerical simulation of gas turbine flows, and hybrid propulsion concepts. Author of ten books and over fifty ISI-indexed papers, Prof. Cican’s research encompasses a broad range of topics in aerospace propulsion, with recent work focused on the integration of micro gas turbines into hybrid unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems and the evaluation of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in terms of performance and environmental impact.

He is a member of the CNATDCU Commission 13, and serves as an ARACIS expert. Prof. Cican is also deeply engaged in academic mentorship and research coordination, guiding students and young researchers toward innovative and sustainable solutions in aerospace propulsion.
